Bentley is the most recent entrant
into the fray of luxury-car companies launching new SUV designs. At the 2015
Detroit International Auto Show, the British carmaker revealed that its new SUV
would be called the Bentley Bentayga named for the striking stand-alone peak
found on Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands.
The vehicle which is based on the
EXP 9 F concept (shown in images above) will likely be available as a plug-in
hybrid or with a diesel engine, thanks to the Volkswagen Group’s extensive
resources. Bentley has already started designing the Bentayga interior, with
woods and leathers that will provide a sumptuous counterpoint to the vehicle’s
hard-charging, all-terrain capabilities. The Bentley Bentayga is set to be
revealed to the world at an auto show later this year and will go on sale in
2016. (bentleymotors.com)
